KNOW YOUR OPTIONS BEFORE PURCHASING:

  • If you are in FRIT 3054, please select the corresponding option in the dropdown menu, which includes 2 IDI Assessments as well as a debriefing. Please use your OSU student email at checkout.
  • If you are a student outside of a course that has already discussed taking the IDI with an Administrator, please select "Student IDI + debriefing" which includes one test with a debriefing.
  • If you are a student outside of a course that has already discussed taking the IDI with an Administrator but will not require a debriefing, please select "Student IDI (no debriefing)" which includes one test without a debriefing.
  • If you are staff or faculty and have already spoken with an Administrator, please select "Faculty or Staff"

The Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI®) assesses intercultural competence—the capability to shift cultural perspective and appropriately adapt behavior to cultural differences and commonalities.

Intercultural competence has been identified as a critical capability in a number of studies focusing on overseas effectiveness of international sojourners, international business adaptation and job performance, international student adjustment, international transfer of technology and information, international study abroad, and inter-ethnic relations within nations. The Intercultural Development Inventory is a 50-item questionnaire available online that can be completed in 15–20 minutes.
