Modern Chinese Literature & Culture Journal

MCLC is a reincarnation of Modern Chinese Literature (1984-1998). As the leading English-language journal in the field, MCLC reaches well beyond its immediate subscription base. That readership consists of scholars and teachers of Chinese literature, film, history, and culture; graduate students in East Asian culture departments; comparatists; etc. MCLC's hope is to reach a broad readership of scholars, intellectuals, and students, as well as those whose interest in China is not necessarily academic.

Starting with the Spring 2022 issue, all MCLC subscriptions will be handled by Edinburgh University Press (EUP), the journal’s new publisher. Back issues from 2021 and earlier can still be purchased through the CLLC Online Store. You can find more information here.
